Youth Masses in Ottawa:

Happy Lent! To all university students, we are praying for you as you prepare for your exams. Things have been going very well in the youth office. We have completed our first round of regional presentations for parishes on Youth Ministry and the response was good. Many parishes are intereseted in growing Youth Ministry. Next year we will be working on the training of leaders and Youth Cooridinators. The youth's office's venture into the music and drama world is going great. The CD is released!!! If you don't have a copy yet, get is soon! The cast of Godspell is formed and has been and has been rehearsing for a while now. Godspell is truly a play in which the Spirit works. Just around the corner is our annual Youth Rally which is always a wonderful event. There are so many great activities happening in and around the diocese that I encourage you to scroll down (or print this out) to see what's up!!! JOB OPPORTUNITY

SEEKING FULL TIME YOUTH COORDINATOR: St. Ausgustine's parish is looking to hire a full time youth coordinator for our parish. The Parish has a core group of youth already meeting regularly but would like to expand the youth ministry to include others within the Parish and community. Candidates who are interested must show vibrant faith, enjoy working with youth and young adults, and should have some previous experience with youth leadership. Familiarity with the Life Teen program is an asset. Salary will start at $30 000 a year. Candidates must be available to start in May 2006. Youth Worship Leader Needed: St. Leonard's, Manotick, is seeking a part time music leader (5 hours per week on average.) Pay rate negotiable depending on experience. They need a person with a strong musical background and the ability to encourage the development of youth skills for the 6:00 p.m. Youth Mass on Sundays for the spring. Godspell: The Diocesan Youth Office is producing the musical Godspell (based on the Gospel of Matthew) on May 11, 12, and 13. Various youth and adults from across the Archdiocese are involved in the play. Please keep the cast and crew in your prayers as they rehearse over the next few months. The play is being held at St. Paul's High School. Tickets are $10.00 for youth and $15.00 for adults. To order please contact Linda dupuis at 738-5025 ext. 231.

Diocesan CD Release: IT'S HERE!!

The CD is called "For Him" and features Praise and Worship performed by some of Ottawa's finest youth/young adults. This CD includes such hits as Breathe, Better is One Day, How Great is Our God, Holy is His Name, and many more! The cost is a $15.00 donation to the Youth Office. If you would like to purchase a CD please contact Linda or Ted at 728-5025 ext. 231.

Under the Son Diocesan Youth Rally 2006:

On Friday, May 26th, to Sunday, May 28th, we will be having our 3rd annual Diocesan Youth Rally; "Under the Son 2006 - Your Word is a Lamp for my Feet." This weekend retreat is open to all youth (grade 9-12, those coming into grade 9 in September can come too!). The cost is $45.00 per person which includes the registration, food, and some other "goodies." It will be held at St. Monica's Parish (2080 Merivale Rd.)

Young Adults Retreat: will be held at St. Augustine's parish hall on April 19th, for all those who are 18+. The time of the retreat is from 6 - 9 p.m. The topic of the night will be discerning God's will in your lives.
